Thoughts From Inside

  1. This time I have been in the Maricopa County Jail since December 2014. I was looking at a life sentence because of my priors. I fought for my freedom and I beat the Arizona Judicial System, one of the hardest systems for sex offenders such as myself. Now to UltraViolet. Keep up the good work. You are the ones who keep us together and united. I have been locked up this time for 3 years and your organization kept me strong. My release date is September 29th, 2017. Keep your heads up and stay strong. Life is what you make it no matter if you are free or behind these walls. Smile, it makes a difference in your day. The next letter I write will be from the outs.  Love and solidarity, Junior
  2. I wanted to take this time to personally thank you for my issue of UltraViolet. This was my first newsletter and I can honestly state for the record that it started off with a bang…can’t wait for the next one. Before I close, in the newsletter there’s a section called “Thoughts from Inside”. The person named ‘Thunder Bunnie’ from Lucasville OH stressed that she was having difficulties with prison officials providing her with treatment she’s been requesting. Well I do have a little experience in litigation and could assist her. So, it is alright to forward my information to her. On that note, you all continue to push the line for what is right. Peace and many blessings. Treandous Cotton #T-97805, CMC-East/cell6153, PO Box 8101, San Luis Obispo CA 93409
  3. Please stay safe in this crazy world we live in. Peace and love will win in the end. LGBT Pride, Louie, Grady AR
  4. Dear Friends, I need to cancel my subscription to UltraViolet. I’m going on parole and I’ll get back in touch when I’m allowed by my PO. Thanks so much for the news and info. It’s been valuable. I’ll pick up the fight as soon as I can. Sincerely, Chucky
  5. I would like to inform you that your paper helps me out because I’m now out and expressing [that] my LGBTQ Family is mine and they can’t stop me. I’m in prison in SCI Chester PA, and me and a few brothers and sisters are trying to start our own Unitarian Universalists here, but we need a volunteer to come in to do the service. But we are in here and don’t talk to many people so that is hard for us. There is a website but we have no computer to get on to check. The website is UUA.org. Thank you for your time. John, Chester PA [ed. note: closest UUA church-145 W Rose Tree Rd Media PA 19063]
  6. Dear LAGAI, the article you ran on me in your Volume XXVII #2, Fall 2016 really helped me out a lot. I was in a bad prison on lockdown for being sexually harassed and I showed it to the warden and 3 days later I was transferred to one of the safest and gay friendly prisons in Georgia. I just want to say thank you! Shane, Macon GA
  7. Hi UltraViolet People. I could get out next year and will be in your area and will definitely drop in with help and funds!! UV has been with me for ages, I feel an obligation. I don’t agree with everything you print but that just makes UV sweeter-Ha!! Step up the Resistance. Sister Amazon, Kern Valley CA
  8. Greetings Cohorts. I did not want to cut the coupon off the back of the latest issue I received from you. Please consider for future issues putting the coupon on the opposite side of the mailing label or a photo, so that when it is cut out nothing is lost. Almost everything in print circulates extensively. People get very upset when they can not finish a story because someone prior to them cut something out. Bruce, Soledad CA [ed. note: thanks for the feedback but it’s not feasible to move the coupon]
